Electrical Engineer

  • Electrical Engineer required in Santa Clara City metro area
  • Preparing Project Execution Plan
  • Modeling data in Aspen Line Database tool and CAPE
  • Performing relay impact studies, system reviews, researching and determining transmission line and substation relay schemes for projects.
  • Responding to field inquiries and req from Grid
  • Developing and revising protective relay design and setting standards, supporting NERC PRC compliance and regulatory assignments
  • Knowledge using tools such as ASPEN Oneliner, PSS/E, ETAP, MATLAB, Power World, AutoCAD, MATPOWER and ACSELERATOR Quickset
  • Req: MS in Electrical Engineering and willing to travel to client sites throughout the USA

    Power Systems Engineers

  • Candidates should have a Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems.
  • Should have 0-2 years experience in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
  • Candidates should have basic knowledge of power flow studies, or load flow studies or "Newton Raphson", "Gauss Seidel" or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) or Energy Management Systems (EMS) or electricity markets.
  • Experience/Knowledge of electricity markets or Power Systems Modeling or Load flow studies or Unit Commitment or Economic Dispatch or Automatic Generation Control(AGC) or Network Applications such as Load Flow or State Estimation or Contingency Analysis.
  • Knowledge of FORTRAN would be a big plus.
  • Experience with E-Terra platform will be a big plus.

    Protection & Control Engineer (Relay Settings)

  • Apply fundamental power system protection concepts, standard practices and procedures.
  • Calculation of all control and protective relay settings for distribution and transmission substations, 13 kV up to 500 kV.
  • Knowledge of NERC reliability standards for Critical Infrastructure Protection and Operations & Planning, including PRC-001, -006, -023, -25
  • Ability to read and properly interpret engineering drawings and logic diagrams.
  • Perform system reviews regarding relay settings and coordination appropriateness; identify upgrade needs; provide and develop solutions
  • Attend project kickoff meetings with various internal and external stakeholders, representing P&C Engineering in the interest of accurately developing initial project scope.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the progress of individually assigned projects to meet the required schedule. As needed, provide technical field support for projects under construction.
  • Utilize good written and oral communication skills.
  • We are looking for candidates with minimum experience of one year for this position
  • SCADA EMS Support Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ years of experience in a technical customer support capacity.
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States
  • Experience with Power Systems Network Modeling, Network Topological Analysis, Power Flow, Contingency Analysis, State Estimator, Security Constrained Unit Commitment, Economic Dispatch, Linear and Non-Linear Programming Optimization) and Numerical Methods.
  • Familiarity with mathematical modeling tools (AMPL/AIMMS) and optimization solvers (CPLEX and Gurobi)
  • Experience developing power system application software for Electricity Market
  • Experience with multi-threading, high performance, memory intensive analytical applications
  • Strong demonstrable analytical and problem solving abilities with a proven ability or the ability to learn software troubleshooting and diagnosis skills
  • Demonstrated programming skills in high performance, high programming level languages such as FORTRAN or C/C++. Formal classroom education in Data Structures and Databases is desirable as is work experience on a Unix or Linux OS environment
  • Must be willing to work on an on-call basis to support customer emergencies on a mission critical system
  • Well-developed written and verbal skills
  • Positive and proactive personality with a desire for providing excellent customer service and support
